Thanh Hoa City Comprehensive Socioeconomic Development Project
The Project is a comprehensive and multi-sectoral project that will target priority investments and create a suitable and sustainable urban environment for Thanh Hoa and strengthen its role as provincial capital.The Project will upgrade Thanh Hoa’s urban core, integrate its peri-urban areas and further develop its urban infrastructure and key economic sectors. The project components and their corresponding outputs will be: (i) Component 1: Urban Road Development, an improved urban road network (22 km) and urban basic services to link peri-urban urban villages with the city center along with complementary basic urban services; (ii) Component 2: Water Supply Upgrading and Expansion, an expanded and upgraded water supply distribution network, including about 19 km of primary and secondary water supply pipes and connections to expand the service to peri-urban areas and replacement of 19 km of damaged pipes in the city; (iii) Component 3: Drainage and Wastewater Treatment, an improved drainage and wastewater treatment in Thanh Hoa through the construction of 47 km of interceptors for sewerage and drainage, pumping stations, a central wastewater treatment pond, and delocalized wastewater treatment facilities for the city general hospital; (iv) Component 4: Human Resource Development, improved human resources and skills through the upgrading of vocational training centers and capacity building for local utilities and line departments; and (v) Component 5: Tourism Development, a well-managed tourism development through the construction of tourism facilities at tourist sites in Ham Rong and Mat Son

VIDECO is the sub-consultants of Sinclair Knight Merz to: (i) project implementation assistance to PPMU and PIUs, to include project management support and design of infrastructure construction works;
(ii) capacity building, to include project management training for PPMU, PIU, THWSC, and URENCO personnel, technical training in urban services, finance, and assets; and (iii) safeguard compliance
